The watches in question are genuine 7N32 caliber dress watches. You can post a link to an ongoing auction in the comments section of Quartzimodo’s Time Journal (such as this) but not on the Seiko & Citizen Watch Forum.

I am looking at two watches on ebay. A Seiko SKK-184 and a Seiko SKK-186. If I understood the posting rules I’m not supposed to link to an ongoing auction.

My question is .. are these fakes?

Many thanks for your contribution. I had no idea that radiation sensors are that sensitive on board nuclear subs that even radioactive watch lume can affect them.

Hi,
just for info… the non-luminous version of the 7T27-7A20 were issued to the crew of RN nuclear submarines. The radioactive luminous paint would have affected the sensors which are supposed to detect a leak of radioactive material.

Since you’re located in Canada, I would suggest that you take your watch to your Seiko authorized repair center here:

If you prefer changing the old capacitor to the new rechargeable cell yourself, you can buy it from Chronograph.com…. The procedure to replace a capacitor is slightly different than primary (disposable) cells.

I have 5m23-6b73 purchased sometime in 1990. I was not using for few months and found that now its not keeping time. I found out from web that it has some type of capacitor battery. Where can I get that replacement kit? Can I change it at home?
